Univision visits the USS Mohawk

Univision News correspondent Kiki Garcia Monte contacted the League of Paranormal Investigators to report on their investigation of the USS Mohawk, a US Coast Guard cutter in Key West, which is now part of the USS Mohawk CGC Memorial Museum. The LPI found evidence of paranormal activity during their investigation of the ship, and Kiki Garcia Monte met up with them on location to report on their findings.

We at the League of Paranormal Investigators are very proud of this report, and invite you to read the English translation and watch the video by clicking here.

Translation:

Host: After a sailor was convinced that a ghost was following him around the ship, a team of ghostbusters was contacted, and they were able to record video evidence that will make your hairs stand on end. Reporting from Key West, Kiki Garcia Monte takes us to the ship that some crewmembers believe is from beyond the grave

Kiki: It's nightfall in Key West, and we're inside of a ship from War World II. We're reviewing a video clip that allegedly shows us a ghost. In front of me is the engineer's Chief (Chip). Here he is passing in front of the camera while behind him, a figure starts to materialize. Unsurprised, this figure’s presence confirms to the sailor that something strange is going on inside the ship.

Chip: Every time, like right now, I feel like somebody is next to me. There are a couple of places inside the ship were people have experienced being touched or pushed.

Kiki: The USS Mohawk's history is filled with glorious and bloody moments from the North Atlantic. Afterwards, it spent decades in the shipyard. Two years ago, the ship was transformed into a floating museum, and now all of the workers on the ship believe that they're not alone. That's why they decided to contact the League of Paranormal Investigators, who has concluded that the ship is indeed haunted.

Tatiana: From the moment you step inside the ship, you’re going to feel it.

Kiki: According to the ghost hunters, despite the ship having been abandoned for more than 24 years and almost being torn apart, not all of the crew have abandoned ship.

Tatiana: They're happy, and they continue to do the things they did back then.

Kiki: This part of the ship seems to be one of the places where you can sense the ghost. As you can see in the video, there is a light passing through, in the exact same moment when the temperature drops and the air is extremely cold.

Chip: When you walk right here and then you move six feet away, you start shaking from the cold. It's like somebody put a piece of ice on your back.

Kiki: In fact, you could feel it, and there is no air current that would explain the extreme cold. (As she walks in the video) my hair should move from air current. Is my hair moving? According to Tatiana, she contacted one of the spirits, and she assures me that the cold is from a member of the afterlife.

Tatiana: The cold air you feel is a ghost passing by next to you.

Kiki: One of the places in the ship where you can sense a ghost is the Engine Room, where lights have been capture in photos, and nobody seems to know where they come from. According to Chip, it's in here, the Engine Room where his guardian angel saved his life.

Chip: I went to grab some cables, standing up right here, and I heard a voice behind me saying, "be careful." Two times, I heard the same thing; "be careful, don’t touch the cables."

Tatiana: He did not touch the cables. If he had touched the cables, he’d be dead, because the switch was on. Chip would have been electrocuted.

Kiki: Atena, one of the mediums, assures me that she has seen a ghost in the engine room.

Atena: Here is where I felt a burn spirit.

Kiki: Burned? Aaah! And he almost gets electrocuted here, right? (Referring to Chip’s experience). The ghost hunters are convinced that the ship is home to many sailors who have not crossed over, who are very anxious to communicate. I won't sleep here! (Referring to the crew’s berthing.) This picture was taken in the crews berthing, and as you can see, there's a mysterious white light, where Colleen experienced a very close encounter.

Colleen: I said, "Hello sailors," and they touched me here (pointing at her leg).

Tatiana: Imagine that! These are men who have spent many years inside of a ship.

Kiki: Superstition or paranormal phenomenon? That's for you to judge. The truth is that the story makes the Mohawk a legend.
